Meet the Team

James established Convene IT in 2008 providing high levels of IT support to a selected few customers, this has grown through great customer service and working with a great team. James is mainly involved with projects and moving Convene forward as well as the companies they maintain. When he gets the time, he enjoys visits to the cinema and gaming.

Kevin joined the company in early 2011 and as the New Business Manager is responsible for bringing on new customers and promoting our unrivalled Business IT Support Service at Expos and local networking groups. “We are always looking to help businesses and organisations who are looking to review their current IT Provision”. After retiring from singing (and recently becoming a grandad) he spends his time with family, watching (and playing) football and loves a Holiday!

Jack joined the team straight from school as an apprentice and has been with Convene since 2011. He has completed a Cisco course. Jack spends a lot of time onsite with customers, he specialises in installing new servers, PC’s, routers and setting up Office 365. Away from the office Jack enjoys lots of different sports especially cricket.

Phil started working for ConveneIT in 2011. He is currently Technical Manager and works on larger projects, server installs and Data Centre work. He has 15+ years experience working within the IT Industry and has various Cisco, Microsoft and Comptia qualifications. Phil is also a qualified scuba diver. His spare time is taken up with his children.

Lee is part of the main install team, who goes out to visit sites and complete all necessary tasks. Lee enjoys being able to meet new customers, migrating to Office 365 and setting up new servers and networks. When not working, Lee’s competitive side comes out in gaming and taking part in pub quizzes.

Martyn joined Convene in 2014 bringing in his Customer Service and Broadband support experience along with his extensive experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Networking. He is the go-to guy when fixing end-users IT issues. When not working, Martyn enjoys playing football, gaming and spending time with his family and friends.

Beth is our Customer Relationship Manager, she deals with the support contract renewals and helps with projects outside of the day to day IT fixes. She understands how to translate the technical into straight forward language. If you have any non-technical queries Beth is your go to. Outside of work Beth likes to spend time with her partner and two daughters, walk the family dog, watch films and play on the Xbox.

Ken joined the team as an apprentice at the beginning of 2016. His main role is to deal with any issues customers may have over the phone, he will work with them to try and rectify any issues they may have. He enjoys all different aspects of computers and working out what they do

Joe joined Convene IT straight from school in September 2016. He works in IT support and enjoys talking to customers and fixing different types of issues. Out of work, Joe enjoys watching football and spending time with friends.

Paul joined the team in 2016 having previously worked as an IT manager for a Telecoms company for 14 years. He is a senior member of the engineering team and specialises in broadband. Paul’s hobbies include watching football, eating out and watching boxsets.

Nathan started with Convene IT in 2016 and works alongside Jacob as the Helpdesk Team Leader, ensuring the team is running smoothly, efficiently and to standard. He helps out wherever he can but outside of work Nathan enjoys 3D Graphics & Motion Design, Filmmaking, Photography and Online Gaming.

Jacob started Convene IT in 2018 as an apprentice and worked in the Support Team. He is now promoted to Helpdesk Manager, ensuring the team runs smoothly and efficiently. Outside of work Jacob enjoys going on holiday, drinking alcohol (only to sensible levels….), spending time with friends and restoring his classic cars.

Tom has experience in supporting schools, small businesses and a top 100 law firm. These have given him a wide exposure to a variety of technologies. As the team’s Business Analyst, Tom is improving the team’s processes, security and CRM solutions. He still enjoys face to face visits with customers to assess and support their IT needs. Away from the office, Tom loves cooking, running and days out with his wife and two girls.

Jamie is a networking graduate who enjoys all aspects of IT, especially getting hands on with different equipment. His previous role as a service desk analyst has given him great experience in speaking to customers and providing support. Outside of work Jamie is a huge gamer, reader and frequently visits the cinema. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Ian is based in the Salford office. He has nearly 30 years experience in IT, working within education, financial services, and small business customers

Sharon is Convene IT’s Communications Manager. She has an events, marketing and communications background and has worked for various public sector organisations. In her spare time, Sharon likes to keep active with Crossfit, hiking, running, aerial hooping and travelling.

David has over 7 years experience, working on helpdesks on different IT issues. Out of work, David enjoys watching football and spending time with friends and family

Shaun has 13 years’ experience in IT support in various settings. Shaun enjoys helping people and providing great service. In his free time Shaun likes to visit car shows, watch the Formula 1 and play video games. Shaun can say the longest place name in the UK: llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Jack finished working in retail, to start working towards a level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship. Out of work, he enjoys watching sports including Football, rugby, and Formula 1. As well as playing video games and socialising with friends

Chris has over 8 years of experience working at a leading IT company. His previous role as an Infrastructure Support Specialist has given him vast experience in server maintenance and he is considered a subject matter expert when it comes to ensuring customer infrastructures are securely backed up and protected against data loss. Out of work, he enjoys playing video games as well as watching sports including Football and Formula 1.

Phil has 13 years experience in the IT Sales space (lucky for his customers!). He knows that offering a genuine and helpful service is the only way to win and retain customers. In his spare time Phil likes to watch films from the 1950’s to the 70s especially. Just don’t ask him what is now showing on TV! He also enjoys any kind of music with a melody and tasting the delights of real ale.

Before joining Convene, Laurie was a Sales & Marketing Executive for a import and export company. In her spare time, she likes spending time with her partner and young son, shopping, cooking and visiting new places.

John has spent most of his working career in Electronics, IT and Sales (of some nature). He is always willing to go the extra mile to get whatever needs doing done. His sporting interests used to be Snowboarding the world but now it’s more localised to watching Formula 1 on TV. The world got smaller after his son was born, but when he’s old enough, they will ride again. Other than that his other interests are watching movies, box-sets and gigs with his wife and friends.

Susan is Convene’s Financial Controller. She has worked in accountancy and finance for over 30 years and is the person to contact if you have any queries on the invoices we send you and your account with us. Outside of work group exercise at the gym, cooking and spending time with her family.

Ash has experience served over various aspects of the IT industry in both the public and private sector. When not stuck into work he enjoys anything with adrenaline and wheels(mainly cars and mountain bikes!), gaming, the great outdoors and socialising with friends.

Alex worked on a Service Desk for a Healthcare Software provider for a few years before joining Convene. He loves football and is a huge Man United fan. As well as watching football he also plays a few times a week. Alex also enjoys physical activities to keep fit like walking, biking, as well as drinking beer and socialising with friends at the weekend.

Alex works in IT Support, currently finishing his apprenticeship. He is new to IT and enjoys learning to better himself to develop his career. Out of work he enjoy the Gym, Football and all things cars.

Rob has experience providing IT support in the Education and Private sectors. Before he started in IT he worked in primary school education providing 1 to 1 special needs support. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and programming.

Natt has 4 years’ experience within IT Support. He is always willing to help out and is a real team player. When not stuck into his work he enjoys playing/ watching football, gaming and going hiking. He has just welcomed the arrival of his daughter Everleigh who was born on the 26th July 2023!

Adam has been in the IT sector since 2016, starting out in refurbing gaming consoles. He is best with the hardware side of IT. In his free time, Adam likes to watch Scottish football matches. He is also a fan of modifying his car & playing PS3.

Steve is an experienced Operations Manager helping rapidly growing companies to enable people and processes to meet todays growing demands in the IT sector. Also, Steve is a HR Leader and has a CIPD Level 5 Diploma. In his spare time he enjoys watching football, F1, Rugby, eating out and action movies.

Harvey joined Convene straight after school as an apprenticeship. He likes spending his spare time with friends. He has a CSCS card and a Level1 in Health and Safety on a construction site. He is interested in learning more about IT with Convene and improve his knowledge.

Ellie is currently doing a Business Admin Apprenticeship. She is the oldest of 6 girls and has a miniature dachshund named Barbara who often goes by the nickname Barbie girl. In her spare time, Ellie enjoys reading and spending as many days out as possible doing various activities such as Alton towers or pottery painting. Her favourite place to visit is the cinema, she will always be a cosy film type of girl.

Alex joined the team as a Helpdesk Technician and is here to help with any tech issues you may have. He’s always learning new things to be the best engineer he can be. In his free time, he enjoys reading, video games & classic horror movies.
